Michelle Talent Day
The Michelle Talent Day is named in honour of her invaluable support to Brydges Centre. Michelle purchased a memorable property for Brydges Centre. She has showed key interest in meeting the needs of the children under our care and realising the dreams that they collectively share. At Brydges Centre we recognise this aspect by celebrating the talents, dreams and outstanding abilities our children exhibit in our day to day lives.
The talent day is normally held in second week of April each year but this year, in 2010, we will be holding the Michelle Talent Day on Saturday June 19th.
Brydges Centre values and background behind the Michelle Talent Day
The future society lies in its younger generation and our children's lives have been substantially improved by the fruits of social progress both on a national and international level.
We orient our values and practices towards the best interests of the child. The results have been a vast improvement in child rescue and protection, healthcare and enhancement of facilities that are dedicated towards the children's intellectual and physical growth. We give as much credit to our donors and sponsors for their sharing not only of their own resources but also their lives with us. We thank God for our ability to advance children's interests, resulting in the fostering of positive youth development.
We view children's entertainment activities and their consumption patterns from the perspective of the objectives that we hold for them. We examine how our children's characters and competence is affected by the kinds of entertainment we opt for them. At Brydges, we help our children aquire a wide assortment of skills and knowledge through the entertainment that we provide them. This is attained through games and team sports, as well as performing arts. We must always respect that childhood is the time when one has the highest hopes and wishes, to be the most ideal person they can be. This is expressed in the most diverse, critical, and creative ways. Opportunity and facilitation for this to happen is our responsibility.
