The Childrens Home
The childrens home has three main housing locations:
- A home for children under the age of 12 years located in El Paso, Ngong.
- A home for girls aged 13 and above based in scheme 305, Ngong.
- And boys aged 13 and above are housed in Bungoma in Kenyas Western province.
Brydges Centre C - Younger Childrens Home
Children under the age of 12 years of age require special dietary needs, toys, motherly attention and other necessities such as clothing, health care and shelter. Each child is included in our early childhood education program as well as additional forms of education while at the centre.
Brydges Centre is an institution that takes care of vulnerable children, especially orphans, homeless and impoverished.
The Centre offers shelter, food and education to the children. The Centre has three branches, two in Ngong Hills, which provides boarding for the needing children. In total, the Centres in Ngong have 65 children under their wings, and hopefully more will come to us. All children need to belong to someone who will give them faith, love and affection.
They need to have a family that they can rely on, when times get rough. They all have hopes and dreams that they wish will come true, and here at Brydges we try our best to make that happen.

Brydges Centre B - Girls Home
Girls of 13 years and above have specific needs such as increased personal privacy and affection from their house mothers and social workers. Their desire of beauty training and other developmental aspects make it clear that they want to live in their own environment.
They play a lot, though not with basic toys as the younger children here at Brydges Centre. They are more creative and critical in how they live and do their assignments. Being of a higher class of education, they require quiet time for their own revision and writing their school work.
In their free time the girls are engaged in creaive work such as:
- Making handicrafts such as beads and jewellery
- Washing their laundry
- Learning music and dancing
- Utilising the kitchen and garden, planting vegetables such as kales, cabbages, onions and tomatoes
On Sunday when the entire Brydges Centre family meets for fellowship, the older girls at Centre B take on a leadership role to assist in developing their personal skills.
Brydges Centre A - Bungoma Boys Home
Teenage boys share in a spacious home in Bungoma with a large football compound alongside. The home also includes a farm for growing food crops.
Boys have a lot of energy and require adequate space to run and play. The home is strategically placed away from the main town to ensure a homely environment, one that is condusive of positive development and growth. The majority of the boys attend boarding school within their local area which allows them to form a sense of cultural identity.
The support of each of the Brydges homes is primarily through wellwishes and sponsors. Our goal at Brydges is to provide every child with love and care. Each and every sponsor helps make this possible and enables Brydges organisation to meet their needs.
